You Are Important Enough For Him to Leave the 99… Just For You

Paul and Silas were actually not praying to be set free from jail.

They were aware of the cost of following Jesus. They were all in and fully committed to the calling. They knew that no matter what their circumstance, the Lord is to be praised and worshiped.

Do you share in their thinking?

The chains fell off while Paul and Silas were busy singing, almost not bothered by their situation.

How do I know this? Because, even though the chains fell and the doors opened, Paul and Silas maintained did not move. And surprise surprise, nor did the other prisoners.

Everyone stayed.

But the guard did not know that.

He was human in his thinking and being fearful that the prisoners had escaped. If not all, at least some. He had slept through the miraculous earthquake.

To his surprise, everyone was in place.

This both shocked him and blew his mind away!

It surprised him into wanting to know Paul and Silas’s God. Who was this God who could break prisoners free and somehow influence them not to escape? He and his family turned their lives over to God after that.

He was the target all along; the prison’s guard I mean.

You see, most of the times I’ve heard this story, it always focuses on Paul and Silas.

Today, I want to focus on the guard. From his perspective, God orchestrated this whole show so He could reach him. Paul and Silas, even in a moment that felt bleak, were still in character — instruments of God to use as He pleases.

Their perceived bondage became someone else’s freedom.

God cares about the 1.

He will use whatever and whoever to reach out to the one. He knows the 99 who are already found are safe. Even Jesus said that He came to seek and save the lost.

This encouragement is for you if you feel like God does not care for you.

If you feel like there are too many people for Him to notice you.

He’s a big enough God and there’s enough of Him to go round. He knows your name and hears you when you call. He may not show up the way you expect Him to, but He will for sure show up.

Ask Mary and Martha, Lazarus’s sisters.

Nothing is impossible with or for God.

He loves you and sees you and wants what’s best for you. He will use a language that you understand to reach you. The world may act like you don’t exist or matter, but to God, you are the apple of His eye.

He will come and save you.

xoxo,

Moulding Beauty.

P.S. happy new month of May.
