Are you happy with your life?

That could feel like such a broad question, and no, this has nothing to do with it being a new year. We all know by now that nothing astronomical changes from Dec 31st to Jan 1st. So please don’t set yourself up for disappointment by thinking the new year comes with magic wand.

Yeah, sorry for putting a damper on your resolutions.

The next best time to do what you’ve always wanted is today.

So, are you happy with your life? If not, what are you doing about it? What actual steps are you putting in place to try and change the landscape and actually start living the life you feel you meant to live?

Evolution is a natural human experience.

Change as they say, is the only constant in life. Yet change is the one thing most of us resist more than anything. So much so that we take it personally when someone who once loved tea now enjoys coffee (could never be me) but you get the point.

But, the saddest bit is when you choose to sacrifice who you could be for who we are.

This is often rooted in fear of the unknown and the comfort of the known. As has been proven over and over though, nothing magical happens in the comfort or fear zone. But there’s always wonder and amazement in the unknown.

You were created for more.

I don’t mean in the unhealthy grind culture.

I mean you are capable of more than you give yourself credit for. Most of us struggle with imagining better for ourselves because we have been taught to want better is akin to greedy. But is it really?

You were created in the image of God.

God who is obviously a creative because, have you watched the sun rise or set?

So, if that’s who you’re fashioned after, why would you not expect greatness from yourself? Why would you not believe and trust that you are capable of achieving magnificence? Why would you settle for the bare minimum?

There’s nothing admirable about settling to appease the status quo.

Who you could be might, no, will definitely require effort from you but it always will be worthy-while effort.

Don’t live a small life because you think that’s all there is or that’s as good as it gets. If something in you keeps pushing you, it’s because you are capable of it. Live your best, fullest life possible.

You deserve everything good that life has to offer.

Give yourself the permission to live what you dream.

Adoyo’s Musings

p.s. day 2 of my writing everyday challenge. I am committing to showing up and getting it done. Please bear with me if you are here and reading this. I hope the writing is not too bad.

p.p.s. comments are always welcome. yes, even if they be a bit critical. I’m here to grow and be the best writer I can be, and I know I don’t have it all figured out. I don’t even want to have it all figured out cos then I lose the ability to be surprised, and what’s life without the possibility of surprise and wonder?
